Ed was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. He was exposed to hunting at a young age by his father, grandfather, and uncles who all chased deer in the central part of the state. Once he turned 12 and could join his family, he didn’t look back. At the age of 13, he started hunting with his aunt and uncle and began chasing waterfowl and turkey along with the elusive whitetail deer. In High School, he took his first trip to Wyoming to chase mule deer with his father. It was then that he tagged his first deer and became absolutely hooked on western hunting. Now, Ed chases deer, antelope, elk, bear, turkey, upland game, and waterfowl all over Wisconsin and the
west.
In 2013, Ed started down the path of working in the hunting industry. He began doing writing for huntinglife.com and also started representing various brands in the industry. They have included, GORE, Sitka Gear, ZEISS Sports Optics, BaseMap, onXmaps, SPOT GPS Messenger, Tall Tine Bowstrings, and now VIAM Outdoors. Ed has written articles for both web and print, been a guest on countless podcasts, done TV, radio, and seminars at trade shows. He is very active in the industry and is hoping to share his love of the outdoors with his two young daughters.
Ed loves to share his outdoor adventures on his Instagram account which can be found at @egramz.
In 2020 he was part of a team of producers that successfully documented the harvest of all North American waterfowl species by a hunter in a single season. His skills with a camera have taken him across the United States, Canada, South America, Greenland, Africa, Australia, Europe and the Middle East. He is now a full-time employee of Worldwide Trophy Adventures as their Media Production Manager @justin.fabian.
He is an Elite Staff member of On X Maps, Professional Staff for Vortex Optics, Blacks Creek Guide Gear, Lakewood Products, Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls, Hecs and an Ambassador for several other outdoor companies, such as Grim Reaper Broadheads, Element Arrows, Mathews Archery.
Cass Via – Born and raised in Colorado, I was introduced to the outdoors at a very young age and that’s where I spend most of my time, whether it be camping, hunting, or fishing. I played college baseball and that’s where I learned how to use a camera and ever since I love capturing my adventures with a camera so I can share my experiences with others. I’m also an elk hunting guide here in Colorado and love introducing people to the outdoors and helping people achieve there goals on the mountain. I’m very passionate about elk and mule deer hunting and I continue to learn with every trip into the mountains. I love to share my adventures on my Instagram page @cass_via.
I have been in the outdoors my entire life, I grew up in southern West Virginia spending all of my time in my dad’s bow shop and running around the marina that he also operated. The area I’m from is unique in the fact that there has never been a gun season for whitetail deer, so I’ve spent my entire life dedicated to bow hunting, and have shared that love guiding for mule deer and whitetail in the past. Now I’m currently a registered nurse in the Emergency Room and that gives me a very flexible schedule to spend the majority of my time either with my family or in the outdoors. When I’m not working I spend my springs fly fishing and my September’s in the west chasing mule deer and elk, then the remainder of the year hunting mature whitetails. I love showing others the outdoors through fly fishing, camping, and hunting.
I got my start in the outdoors at a young age but, grew up in a non hunting family. At 16 I got my first opportunity to take the passion I had developed for being outdoors and chasing deer and turn that into hunting and have never stopped to look back. My introduction to deer hunting was a little different than most running beagles to flush bedded Blacktails from thick brush. I’ve spent the last few years relearning to hunt in the more customary western manner and getting as far away from roads and crowds as possible. Some combination of my evolution as a hunter and all of the efforts of the anti hunting movement over the last few years have changed the way I look at hunting. Going from a guy that focused on deer but always carries a bear tag and had no concerns about loosing the ability to chase my passion to an active voice in every conversation effort I can be a part of and being focused on filling my first predator tags as well as continuing to learn as much as I can about all the animals I pursue.
Knowing what the outdoor and hunting lifestyle have meant to me I has made it a point to help new hunters whenever possible and do as much as I can to get new hunters involved and out into the field where I believes we are truly meant to be.
I was born and raised in Washington State and have been hunting and fishing since an early age. As a young teen, I harvested my first buck with a bow and it was in that moment that deer hunting quickly became a passion of mine. The passion grew beyond that through chasing tight lines and hunting other wild game which formed into not only an obsession, but a great appreciation for the outdoors. This obsession eventually landed me in Idaho in search of something different, something new. Now you can find me pursing wild game anywhere from the desert floor to the mountain peaks of Idaho. If I’m not hunting, I’ll be either fly fishing, weight training, shooting or tinkering with my setups.
If there is one thing I can help contribute to our community, it’s to understand and appreciate how much the outdoors truly has to offer. Yes catching fish or harvesting an animal is great and the meat is among the best you’ll ever have. However, being in the outdoors is really about the experiences, the challenges, the laughs and the memories you make with friends and family.
I was born and raised in British Columbia, fishing on a near weekly basis with my Father, mostly targeting salmon and steelhead but doing our share of fly and ice fishing as well. When I turned 19 I decided to obtain my hunting license and immediately became obsessed with providing my own food. I started with deer but as I grew my skills my hunts got bigger and elk and mountain goat quickly became my favourite species to hunt but I love to hunt or fish for anything I can fill my freezer with and spend nearly all my free time doing so. A few years ago I started an Instagram page where you can follow my friends and I’s adventures as we look to fill our freezers with clean, organic meat @b.c.wild.
Born and raised in south central, KY many of my first memories were made chasing whitetails
through the hardwoods of the Bluegrass state. I harvested my first deer with a bow on my 9th birthday and although many years have come and gone since then, I’m still just as passionate about hunting and fishing. For lack of a better word my specialty is archery hunting whitetails in the Midwest but I love chasing many species of big game, small game and fish.
I’m an outdoors writer, Co-host of an outdoors radio show (Southern Ky’s Great Outdoors) on ESPN radio and I work for Urge Media within the outdoors industry. I recently co-founded a non-profit called Operation Youth Outdoors, a day camp that introduces hunting and fishing to youth of all backgrounds.
I’m an average talent at best fueled by an enormous obsession for hunting, fishing and the great outdoors.
I am a life long Montana resident, love both rifle and bowhunting. Both spring and fall seasons, nothing beats high country hunts, sheep, goat, deer, or elk. Love testing new gear and looking for flaws. I have a 15 year old son and enjoy watching him grow as a hunter.
I was born and raised in Southern Nevada and grew up hunting there most of the time but growing up we would also travel to Utah, Arizona, and Idaho to hunt big game animals. I gained my passion for hunting and the outdoors through my dad who started taking me out on hunts at the age of three. If I had to pick one thing to hunt it would be mule deer, but you will also find me chasing elk, bears, antelope, sheep, and also waterfowl.
I started @outwest.hunters on Instagram in 2019 as a journal for my hunts but in no time I found a passion for documenting, and sharing my outdoor adventures. Since then Outwest Hunters has turned into much more than just an instagram. In doing this, I have become a staff member and work with Tactacam, Slayer calls, Goat Knives, OnX, and many others. My favorite part about it all, is the connections I get to make with people who are like minded and have the same passions. Get outside and go hunt!
I’m a 3rd generation Montanan where I have spent my entire life outdoors doing many activities. These days my outdoor life consists of hunting, hiking, snowboarding, trail running, camping, and backpacking. The outdoors is where I have always found piece and tranquility.
I started the Ironworkers union in 2004 and it’s where I’m still working with these folks but as the main apprenticeship instructor these days. I also travel to Canada every September for a few weeks and guide elk hunts but also have a side photography business where I love to capture moments in time.
My wife and I have been together since the summer of 2007 and we now have 2 kids. We absolutely love getting them involved in our outdoor life style. We enjoy chasing elk, deer, antelope, and bears and just love to watch them grow with each trip we take. When we are not in our day to day life’s you can usually find us in our Jeep cruising some dirt road looking for the next adventure.
Kory is a 5th generation Utahn, born and raised between the high alpine of the Wasatch Front and the wetlands of the Great Salt Lake. He is a husband and father with an affinity for the wild places around him. Growing up with so many adventures so close at hand was a blessing, and meant he almost always had a shotgun or a fly rod in the backseat. Kory has worked with a handful of companies in the outdoor space as a writer, content creator, camera operator and film editor. His creativity with a camera has been growing within the last few years and led to producing and editing his own trips in the elk woods and chasing mule deer, turkey and upland game. Naturally being a gear nut, a relationship with 6am was a “no-brainer.” His content and his writing aim to show the wild side of gear, conservation and adventure, and he looks forward to sharing the vision of 6am with all those of equal passions.
Born and raised in Western Washington, Josh’s love for hunting and fishing started as a small child, completing Hunter’s Safety at the age of 10 and has been a passion ever since. Josh’s experience, skills, and knowledge of the outdoors make up a large portion of his core foundation. With the growing love of hunting also came the awareness of the bigger picture – conservation. “What can I do to help preserve the beauty of the outdoors in order to share this with my children and future generations?” Just after high school Josh began volunteering with various organizations to help with conservation and land management efforts. Nowadays, Josh enjoys exploring the wilderness with his family and teaching them all that the outdoors has to offer, in effort to pass on his love for the outdoors. When not hunting or fishing you’ll find Josh on an adventure with his significant other Kelcie, at his stepdaughter’s fastpitch tournament or searching for Sasquatch with his stepson. Spending hunting seasons with family for the past 25 years has been by far some of the best memories of his life.
Born and raised in Oregon, I have been an outside kid my entire life. I love spending time in the mountains in hunting and fishing. I served in the marine corps for 4 years and did 2 deployments to Afghanistan. I love photography, and media and have consulted with multiple brands in the creative space for the past 5 years. I love learning and always seem to continually grow and help everyone I can a long the way!
My name is Isaac Kent, I’m 26 years old, and I have a passion for all things outdoors. When I was 14 I decided I wanted to share my experiences through the lens of a camera. I’m originally from Louisville, Kentucky and I’m a whitetail hunter at heart. My passion for the west led me to Bozeman where I currently live. In the fall you can find me on the mountain chasing elk or deer, and in the summer you can find me fly fishing any of the local rivers.
I’ve worked in social media ever since 2014 on my own brands or others in the outdoor space, and I’m glad to be a part of bringing all of our collective passions at VIAM to social media.
Originally from Monroe Washington that moved Montana to pursue my passion of hunting, fishing and skiiing while also attending Montana State University. Growing up I didn’t hunt much, just a little for ducks and the occasional deer out of my backyard I did grow up in the woods, doing a bush craft, snares traps and assortment of shenanigans. I love to be behind the lens capturing moments!
